Our Client

Dubbed as “London’s most famous hotel”, the Savoy Hotel opened in 1889 as the first luxury hotel in Britain with electric lights throughout the building. The grade II listed building features more than 260 bedrooms and has superb views of the River Thames and the Thames Embankment. Notable guests range from Marilyn Monroe and the Beatles to Coco Chanel, Whoopi Goldberg, and Stephen Fry.

The Brief

From when it was first built, to the multi-million pound renovation in 2010, the Savoy hotel has always offered opulence and richness to its visitors. From the restaurants and customer service, to the high quality furniture and decoration. Everything about the hotel is designed to create a feeling of comfort and affluence and this should be reflected in all features of the building too.

The Savoy Hotel were searching for a supplier and service provider that could offer first-class national and advertising flags for multiple locations across the venue. The hotel wanted high quality and robust products that would last all year round.

Our Solution

In 2017, Flagmakers supplied the Savoy Hotel with a range of expertly hand-sewn flags in different sizes. The front entrance of the hotel features 2-yard applique flags for the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and the United States of America.

Also welcoming guests are custom-designed corporate flags for Fairmont and the Savoy. These 2-yard hand-sewn flags are built to last. Benefitting from a protected area and not facing as much weather damage, these flags are changed and washed at the discretion of the Savoy hotel.

Flagmakers also supplied the hotel with a 4-yard Union flag for the roof of the building. Highlighting the hotel as a prominent location in the Capital city, the premium quality flag remains flying as much as possible and is changed on an annual basis.
